The "Serghei Lunchevici" National Philharmonic, during its more than 80 years of activity, has become the most important cultural-artistic institution in the country, carrying out a wide range of activities in various directions: academic, popular and jazz music.
Namely, at the National Philharmonic, the most representative collectives began their activity, among which are the ensembles "Joc", "Fluieraș", "Lăutarii", well-known personalities of the musical culture such as Dumitru Goia, Ghita Strahilevici, Serghei Lunchevici, Vladimir Curbet, Veronica Garstea, Victor Copacinschi, Nicolae Sulac, Tamara Ciobanu. Legendary names of the national stage also started their activities here, such as the "Noroc" orchestra, the "Plai" ensemble, the performers Ion Suruceanu, Iurie Sadovnic, Nadejda Cepraga, Mihai Dolgan and many others.
The "pride" of the National Philharmonic are the collectives known all over the world - the Symphony Orchestra and the "Doina" Academic Choir Chapel.
On September 24, 2020, the National Philharmonic was engulfed in flames, which destroyed the library, rehearsal rooms, but also rare and valuable instruments.
The revenues collected from the sale of this postage stamp (surtax of 3.00) will be transferred to the fundraising campaign account in the form of a donation for the reconstruction of the "Serghei Lunchevici" National Philharmonic.
